I have looked at the fear video, the introduction is set in a field where Lily is in a pastel coloured small caravan. And says "I wanna be rich and I want loads of money." I may use these colours in my animation to show links between the two. There are red flowers in the background which could be a connotation of her "fear," or it could mean power, passion, sex and danger. These aspects could be representative of the song. The toy bear hanging on the washing line is a random item. I wish to incorporate random features into my animation so this will also show links.
When she walks out of the caravan shes wearing a quirky little dress which a large bow and random grand images on the material. I could use bows as random drawing in my animation as musicandmuffins and other animations I have found on YouTube do. Also when she says "I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror" she looks into the sky. Although I believe that this is a play on words. The words have double meaning the sun as the sun in the sky and the Sun the newspaper and the same with mirror. This is only relevant to people who no the newspapers Sun and the Mirror so brings in the cultural code by Roland Barthes. Later I will make a post explaining his narrative theories. In my animation I may play on the use of these words, switching the meaning through the actual meaning and the other.
When she re enters her caravan it turns into a grand hall with a red carpet which again could be a connotation of her "fear," or the other words listed above. There are men in waiter dress dancing. This could be a transition in her life from nothing to everything but yet red is still incorporated as she is still scared. The windows and glass through the doors are the same colour as the caravan at the start this shows reflection back and links to the past.
Again slightly later on in the music video, 1.19; the camera turns to a toy car and boxes which are the same colours as the caravan and again at 1.32 the the present boxes are the same colours with electric red ribbon, showing the "fear," and representing other things. On the other hand the presents and cakes give the video a dreamy magical feel which represents her crazy life.
"I don't no whats right and whats real anymore," the over sized present boxes start spinning to show her confusion, i could use this idea a have my images moving around or spinning. This will show connections with her music video or the album version of the song and my stop motion animation of the acoustic version of "the fear."
The black and white checked floor is a great idea for a background and could show her personal beliefs of how everything use to be black and white but now its grey and she doesn't no how to feel anymore.
At the start of the .... verse starting were she sings about guns and ammunition the clip has a darker back ground which relates to the darker subject matter.
The random balloon dancers and balloon's outside the grand building again are the same pastel colours as the caravan. The randomness of the balloon dancers reflect to the words in the song and how she doesn't no how to feel anymore. Also the men helping her down the stairs shows that she has people doing things for her now but she doesn't no how to take it. The smoke again is the same pastel colours which could be mist over her life. The overall video has a Alice and Wonderland feel to it.
The large red bow over the enormous, amazing perfect fairy tale mansion at the end clarifies that everything great is wrapped with new doubt, fright and FEAR.
In conclusion i will use the dreamy, sickly sweet pastel colours and the red to show that when everything is great it doesn't mean that everything is perfect.

Emily.
There is some excellent analysis here. Try to think of another connotation for the colour red, one which links to your perceptive point about the play on words with Sun and Mirror relating to a news paper.
Try to also read Mr Fords blog and his Carol Vermalen article on how to construct a music video.
Look at these sections from Sophia Coppola's Mary Antoinette
